1. Establishes credibility.
These days it seems as though nearly anyone can post something to social media and act as though they know what they are talking about. The time, efforts, and (let’s not lie here) money that goes into investing in a professional website is not something that goes unnoticed when potential clients visit your page.
Now don’t get me wrong, social media pages are not to be left in the dust and forgotten as they are essential for your business’s success. However, if your goal is to attract a high-paying client to your business, wouldn’t you instead send them to a professionally designed and strategic website than your Instagram page?
2. Works for you while you sleep.
Websites don’t need to sleep. They don’t need food or water, or exercise. That means that your website will ALWAYS be working for you no matter what you might be doing. A good website does the work, so you don’t have to.
As a web designer, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to ensure your website will do everything possible to reach potential clients. (Think SEO and Google ranking). While social media constantly must be updated, a website is static and will always remain. Having something that works for you 24/7 will decrease the amount of marketing you’ll need and save you time and money in your business gaining clients.
3. Potential clients can find you.
Haven’t you heard what people say? “Just Google it!” If someone is looking for the next place to eat that night or their next photographer or a personal trainer, you can bet they will head straight to Google. My goal as your web designer is to make sure that you’ll be found if someone searches for a service or product you provide.
Any source of information that a potential client could be searching for will be answered once they land on your page. Who are you? What do you do? Why should they pick you? How can they contact you? It’s ALL there, ready for them to fall in love with.
4. You own your website.
Social media accounts are hacked all the time. It’s a sad fact, but not false. The truth is that you do not own your social media accounts, and once someone takes them over and locks you out, there is very little that can be done to remedy the situation.
What if all of your business information was kept on your Instagram account, and you just lost access to it one day? How would you contact people?
Where would your clients go? How would you gain new customers? Having a website that you own is another added level of protection to your business, your brand, and your livelihood.
5. It sets you apart from your competitors.
Potential clients are not oblivious to the fact that some websites are better than others. However, working with a professional web designer who knows the importance of strategy and aesthetics when building a website is something that WILL BE NOTICED.
When a website is clear and concise and easy to navigate, there is a greater chance your target audience will stay on the page longer and the greater chance you will convert those visitors to clients.
